Progress & Attainment

End of School Year Performance 2022-23

Phonic Screening Check

94% of Year 2’s passed their phonic screening test.  Most children who retook the test in Year 2 had made significant improvement compared to their Year 1 results.

73% of Year 1’s achieved the cut score, many children were very close to passing the assessment.  Those who didn’t achieve the cut score will have the opportunity to retake the assessment in Year 2.

KS1 Outcomes

The percentage of pupils meeting or exceeding age related expectations at the end of Year 2 were:

55% of reading

53% in writing and

66% in maths.

Our SAT results were not as strong as we would have hoped, but they do reflect the difficult learning journey Year 2 has had since starting school. The staff and children in Year 2 have worked incredibly hard this year to catch up and consolidate on learning that was affected.
