I am delighted to be serving as the Interim Headteacher at Pocklington CE Infant School. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the warmth of the school, the kindness of the children and the dedication of the staff team. It is a privilege to lead such a caring community.
Pocklington CE Infant School is truly a happy school where children love learning. Our mission – to provide high-quality learning experiences that enable everyone to reach their potential within a stimulating, safe Christian environment – guides everything we do each day. We are ambitious for every child and are committed to building on our strengths as we continue our journey of improvement together.
Alongside academic learning, we place great importance on children’s social and emotional wellbeing. We want every child to feel safe, valued and confident. Our staff are trained to support children’s mental health and self-esteem, and we work closely with families to ensure children thrive both in school and beyond.
We are proud to be a Church of England school, and our Christian values of Compassion, Perseverance, Truth and Respect shape our relationships, curriculum and daily life. Our close links with All Saints Church and the wider community enrich the experiences we offer our children.
As Interim Headteacher, my focus is on providing stability, clarity and continued improvement, while ensuring that the school remains a place where children feel happy and excited to learn. Partnership with parents and carers is extremely important to me. Children flourish when school and home work closely together, and I value open, honest and supportive communication.
