Tuesday Coffee morning this week was a special Fair Trade event and raised £190.95. Many thanks to all who helped in any way.
Lent Soup – All Saints Pocklington: Lent Soup will start Tuesday 20 February and will continue for 6 weeks until 27 March. Coffee Mornings continue as usual and soup is served from 11 -12.30.

As you will now be aware after 30 years’ service as a Priest and for the last 8 years as Vicar of the Pocklington Group of Churches, Geoff has announced his retirement. His last service will be a Group Service at 10.45am on Sunday 18 March at Pocklington Church as a celebration of his service to the Pocklington Group and the local community. Any contributions towards a retirement gift should be handed into the Church Office for the attention of David Brown, Church Treasurer or given to Nigel Laws, Church Warden by Sunday 11 March. The next breakfast at the Lily Pad Café, Burnby Hall Gardens, will be on
Saturday 17 March at 8.15 for 8.30. The speaker will be Rachel Mort, Learning and Participation Officer, and the title of her talk will be Burnby Hall Gardens Restoration Project. Please sign the board at the back of the Church. The cost will be £10 payable in advance to Mae Brown.
Women’s World Day of Prayer
Our service this year is at All Saints, Pocklington
at 2pm on Friday, 2 March
This year’s service has been written by the
women of Suriname – Everyone is welcome
Please join us for the service and refreshments afterwards
Pocklington Singers next concert will be on Saturday 3 March at 7.30 pm and will be held at All Saints Parish Church, Pocklington. The main work to be performed will be Fauré’s Requiem, with other supporting pieces. Tickets can be obtained from 3 weeks before the concert from the Church Office, or Readwell and Wright, or on the night at the door.
Snowdrop Sundays at Londesborough, 18 February.
The Grounds of the Old Hall will be open to the public.
The Church will be open with displays of local interest and heritage as well as books for sale. Refreshments will be available in the Reading Room 10-30am to 4-00pm. Funds being
raised in aid of the Church.
Flying Man Silent Auction: As in previous years we will be running a silent auction leading up to and over the festival weekend. However we have received a donation of a family ticket to a show at Bridlington Spa. As the show is in April we are offering this for auction now.
Details: Family ticket for the show Alice in Wonderland on Friday 6 April @ 7 pm. This is an Easter Panto, which is being performed for one night only at the Spa theatre. Starring Britain’s got talent winner Ashleigh Butler and her dog Sully alongside Children’s TV Legend Dave Benson Phillips. Further star castings are still to be announced.

Pocklington 2018 Flying Man Festival weekend 12/13 May
The events and stalls in and around All Saints will again be at the heart of the festival, with the popular cafe as usual surrounded by exhibitions and activities, while outside on the Pavement the children’s rides are planned for both days.
New for 2018, the ‘Flying Man Challenge’ …… a 50 mile sponsored walk and / or sponsored cycle ride from the birthplace of Thomas Pelling, the 18th century acrobat who inspired the event, setting off from the church at his home village of Burton Stather in north Lincs, and finishing at the churchof All Saints, Pocklington, where it all ended.

Or why not take part in a shorter family walk of 3-5 miles on Saturday morning, walking from Nunburnholme or Kilnwick Percy churches and arriving at All Saints for the opening of the festival?
