Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is based on the National Curriculum 2014 and the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework and Development Matters.  We embed these nationally designed curriculum into themes that are engaging and relevant to the children.  Our themes change each term and are developed to meet the current needs, interest and next steps in learning of our pupils.  To find out more about the curriculum your child is following contact their class teacher.

Pupil Voice

What do you do if you find something difficult?

Persevere.

Ask for help from a friend or a teacher.

Have a go.

Mrs Snowball says ‘If it’s tricky draw a piccy’.

What do you do when somebody in your class finds something difficult?

Help them….

Give them a clue.

Don’t help them – only if they’re really stuck.

Encourage them to do it.

Reading

We use a system of synthetic phonics following the Read Write Inc scheme to teach early reading and to give pupils the essential skills they need to be able to read and write.

Maths

We use a maths programme called Big Maths to teach basic numeracy skills.
